Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the urban area endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and several individuals were injured.

The assaults come after periods of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

He said energy workers and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
