It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a team that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her newest gem.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared my form was missing at all," said Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit kick in and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there the batsman was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was removed the team needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we are confident we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this tournament should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this victory following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they left last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have postponed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
